Perast

Perast (UNESCO world heritage town) is a charming waterside village situated in one of the most beautiful and important locations on the Bay of Kotor. It has wonderfully preserved Mediterranean charm being almost entirely made up of up of old stone houses, palaces, piazzas and churches. The views from the shoreline and of the surrounding mountains are stunning.

Local boats will take you out to the Church of Our Lady of the Rock, which has a small museum as well as the church.

The most beautiful buildings of this small city were built in the 17th and 18th centuries. At that time seafaring was growing and captains built magnificent villas that even today capture you with their beauty. Perast is a quiet and peaceful place with a few small bars and restaurants. There are two islands in front of Perast – one where the church Saint George (Sveti Djordje) from the 12th century is located, and the second has the Church of Our Lady of the Rock (Gospa od Skrpjela) which was built in 1630, on top of an artificial island.
